Disney+ Adds Subscription Gifts In Time For The Holidays

Disney’s on-demand video service, Disney+, is celebrating its first anniversary this month, and it is now introducing a key new feature just in time to join those celebrations, as well as the 2020 holiday season.

We are talking about support for subscription gifts which you can now buy and send to your loved ones or perhaps even complete strangers, if that’s the kind of Secret Santa you want to be.

Of course, you will still need their email address as the gifted subscription will have to be tied to something at all times. In other words, it is not possible to buy a promotional code or any such equivalent that would allow you to gift subscriptions by simply DM-ing relatively short strings on Twitter or something of the sort.

Instead, you will have to head over to the Gift Subscription section of the official Disney Plus website, enter your payment information and finalize the order with your desired gift recipient’s email address.

The only catch is that you can’t buy a month-long, or even a quarterly token – only a full year’s worth of subscription. Which, for added clarity, comes down to $69.99 in the U.S., $89.99 in Canada, and £59.99 in the UK.
